Your library is not an advertising profile.
Last updated 26 July 2026.
What we store
We store account details, saved URLs, extracted article copies, reading progress, notes, highlights, tags, collections, and security logs needed to operate Pilcrows. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes.
How we use it
We use this data to provide and secure the service. We do not sell personal data or use library activity for targeted advertising. Private article content is never included on public pages or public feeds.
Your choices
Public profile sections and every shareable record have independent visibility controls. Search indexing is a separate opt-in. You can export your library from Settings. Account deletion removes relational data immediately and queues stored blobs for purge, always within 30 days.
Service providers and contact
Infrastructure providers may process data only to host, deliver, and protect Pilcrows. We use Plausible Analytics to understand aggregate site usage without analytics cookies or persistent identifiers. Plausible receives page paths and limited request and device information needed to produce those statistics; we do not use it for advertising or send saved article content, notes, or highlights as custom analytics data.
Questions or deletion requests can be sent to [email protected].
